Many businesses run their online store on Salla or Zid, while their accounting, stock and purchasing live somewhere else. Staff re-enter orders by hand, the stock shown on the store drifts away from the warehouse, and invoices are issued late. Connecting the store to Odoo turns all of this into one flow, from the customer's order to the invoice.
What the integration does
- Orders: each new order on the store arrives in Odoo automatically as a sales order, with the customer, products, discounts and shipping.
- Inventory: available quantities are sent from your Odoo warehouses to the store, so you never sell what you do not have.
- Products and prices: products are managed in one place and published to the store with their variants, barcodes and prices.
- Invoices: invoices are issued from Odoo in line with ZATCA e-invoicing, instead of being created by hand after the fact.
- Shipping and order status: delivery orders are prepared in the warehouse, shipments can be booked with carriers such as SPL (Saudi Post) or NAQEL, and the order status is updated on the store.
- Payments: online payments and cash on delivery are recorded, so collections can be matched with the payment gateway's settlements.
Decisions to make before you start
- Where products are managed: we usually recommend Odoo as the single source of truth, with the store receiving products, prices and stock from it.
- How products are matched: each product and variant needs the same code (SKU or barcode) in both systems. This is the most important part of the preparation.
- VAT-inclusive prices: store prices are usually shown including VAT, so the tax settings in Odoo must match to avoid rounding differences.
- Warehouses and branches: which warehouse ships online orders, and whether stock from more than one location is published.
- Returns and cancellations: how a returned order is handled in stock and in accounting, with a credit note and a refund.
How we run the project
- Review your store, your catalogue and your current process.
- Connect the store to Odoo through its API, and set up the product, tax and payment mappings.
- Run the initial sync of products and stock, and fix any codes that do not match.
- Test with real orders on a test copy: prepaid, cash on delivery, cancellation and return.
- Go live and monitor, with a log of every synced order, so any error is spotted and fixed quickly.
From our experience
We have built integrations between Odoo and both Salla and Zid, and published apps for them on the Odoo App Store. We have also connected stores with shipping carriers, payment gateways and WhatsApp notifications. The result: fewer manual steps, accurate stock, and faster invoicing and delivery.
